Shai'ry
Shohrat Saheb became an accomplished poet in his teens but started writing poetry at age 11 by writing a popular noha. He adopted pen name of Shohrat. His fame as a poet led him to be more commonly known as Shohrat Saheb. Most people who know him personally would be hard pressed to think of his real name. Shohrat Saheb is the name of choice for everyone.
His nohas are very popular and are recited by anjumans through out India, as well as Pakistan.
He counts among his literary mentors Naashad saheb and Allama Jawwad Husain Natiq saheb who was a great Farsi and Urdu scholar.
His munqabat and qaseedeh were published in 1984 in a collection entitled 'Meraj-e-asmat'. The book was chosen to be placed in 250 federally run libraries in India.
Ibne Safi was one of his favourite authors. Nasim Hijazi was also one of his favourites.
